Female Sex Offenders and one reason why it is hard to raise awareness

It sometimes gets discouraging to try and raise awareness about female sex offenders; about survivors of female perpetrated sexual abuse.

Sometimes people think we are out to bash women or point out they do bad things also. That is not the focus of the site.  With 20-25% of child sexual abuse committed by women and with so few people (including professionals) aware of it, we set out to raise awareness on the issue.

We have over 600+ studies dating from the 1800′s up to the present day, which is any study we can find on the topic, and I think this is the largest,  most complete bibliography on the topic on the internet.

We try to avoid the whole gender war piece.  We try to stick to the facts and publish ALL the studies we can find on the issue.  If people can find some we do not have please send them in.

This is about raising awareness and helping those that have survived, men and women, boys and girls.  As we have repeatedly stated on here, our view is that people are people.

We have been able to help see other professionals use our material to put on trainings/lectures about this topic.  We have had many a graduate student use the bibliography to help them with their own research.  We even had the honor of reviewing the first documentary on mother-daughter sexual abuse.

So hopefully we can continue to raise awareness.  Comments/suggestions are always welcome from anyone.

  1. I truly believe you. When I was eight years old, a woman babysitter used my
hand to masturbate. It was so disgusting. As a adult I slept in the subway train
late at night. I woke up and this woman conductor was feeling my breasts. I
was shocked. I didn’t report her because I was homeless and didn’t have a address. Please keep bringing awareness to people. Abuse must stop now!
